I'm a huge advocate of open source projects in the maker community.

Everything from Arduinos to 3D printing, I'm a fan of. Recently, I used this passion to fill a gap in the open-source community. After diving through a ton of commercial laser cutters/engravers and other projects that claimed to be open, I decided something was missing. I wanted an entry-level cutter that was less than $300 and could be reproducible. Born was Hubble!

Hubble is 100% open-source: build lists, documentation, firmware, software. The whole framework of the platform can be 3D printed with our openly available .stl files. We also release .dwg files for alteration which means Hubble is as hackable as ever. We have users taking the basic Hubble platform and turning it into huge 6' x 6' 5W laser cutter for woodwork designs. The possibilities are endless.

For those who don't feel like gathering all the parts themselves, we offer full and partial kits at ridiculous prices online. While you're there, we love talking and building with Hubble project curators in our support/community forum.
