Lauren Egts, a student at Rochester Institute of Technology, has interned at Bank of America, GE Aviation, and the NASA Glenn Research Center Graphics and Visualization Lab (GVIS). She has won the National Center for Women and Information Technology (NCWIT) Ohio Affiliate Award four times, and the National Runner-Up Award once. She has won Opensource.com’s “People’s Choice Award” for an article on girls and computer science education. She is also a featured contributor and author for Opensource.com. She has also won Intel's Excellence in Computer Science Award for her work at NASA. She is proud to have been the programming captain for her FRC team, FRC 2399 The Fighting Unicorns.
