It's a nice thought that maybe opensource.com might be able to paraphrase Mark Twain and say, "The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated."
One of my favorite ways to learn a new programming language is to take someone else's Python script and play with it -- modify various features of commands in the script and see what the result is.
