Raspberry Pi or Arduino?

The most frequent question open hardware guru and author of Raspberry Pi Hacks, Ruth Suehle, gets asked is: Should I get an Arduino or a Raspberry Pi? In her latest article, she answers that question by telling us more about the differences between the two boards, and their similiarities, plus what projects one is better for than the other.

"The Raspberry Pi is a computer. The Arduino is a microcontroller. They're both inexpensive boards, but if you want to reuse it in the future, you'll need to think about multiple projects as you're planning. And in the end? Maybe you'll decide you need them both!"

What do you think? Tell us which you prefer: Raspberry Pi or Arduino?

Question is like a: do you prefer saw or hammer as a tool? Makes no sense entirely :)

would vote for both

Both, obviously....

Or like asking "Would you buy a Laptop or an Android Tablet ?" :)

Please add a third option: "BOTH"
:))

Both, they are different tools. My latest favorite is yet another microcontroller freeSoC2. It has a bunch of configurable analog and digital hardware, essential stuff for any project.

Fully agree with previous comente : I have both, each one for it's use, or even runnig together, with the Arduino as a inteligent periferal for the Pi

Although I'm an Arduino fan (have both) I have to cast my vote for the Raspberry Pi. The RP is a wondrous general purpose platform with a million applications including hardware hacking.
