AMD working on a Vulkan Driver

A few weeks ago, Intel made a video comparing Vulkan to OpenGL. An update comes from AMD on plans for Vulkan, where they spoke in public at XDC2015. Get all the details in the video below, or view the slides.

1,500 Linux Games in Valve's Steam Library

Softpedia writes that the current number of Linux games available on Steam has recently supassed 1,500! Steam has a total of 6,500 game titles in its library, of which 1,500 are supported by SteamOS and any other GNU/Linux distributions.

You can look forward to November when the Steam Machine will make its debut and we can expect new games with Linux support.

Unity Cloud Build for Linux

The Unity Cloud Build "is a continuous build distribution service for the Unity game development engine." Patrick Curry, Unity’s director of Cloud Build announced at Unite 2015 that Cloud Build is available for Linux in beta.

Pick of the week: OpenMandriva game portal

Linux Game News covers OpenMandriva's new game portal, which is a blog that provides "...tutorials to run the most popular Windows Games in Open Mandriva Linux." Have a look at the new portal at games.openmandriva.org where they already support games like Dota 2, Left 4 Dead 2, League of Legends (Windows PC), Team Fortress 2, and more.

Alien: Isolation – The Collection

Feral Interactive has announced that Alien: Isolation - The Collection will be available for Linux and Mac on Steam on September 29.

Known from the classic 1979 sci-fi film Alien, the game "received critical acclaim for its brilliant stealth gameplay, atmospheric setting and fidelity." Read the full report by Linux Game News.

In an original story set fifteen years after the film, players take on the role of Ellen Ripley’s daughter Amanda, who seeks to discover the truth behind her mother’s disappearance. Marooned aboard the stricken space station Sevastopol along with a few desperate survivors, players must stay out of sight, scavenge for resources and use their wits to survive as they are stalked by an ever-present, deadly Alien.

Train Valley

Train Valley, a simulation and strategy game, has been released for Linux on Steam.

Build railways, manage traffic and stay accident-free. Play in Europe, America, Japan and USSR in 1830-2020. Complete the story mode from the Gold Rush of 1849 to the first manned spaceflight, and then explore the random mode.
