Last week, Red Hatter Máirín Duffy gave us a run down of her favorite open source creative tools. This week, we turn the table and ask you which application you favor in every day practice.

Did one of these tools make or break a big campaign or project? Perhaps you impressed yourself, your lunch group, or your boss?

Share your stories about using creative design tools with us and we'll see if your story is dazzling enough to be featured on our homepage next week.

Adobe Illustrator should have been in there. But at least my second choice (Inkscape) was.

Being focused on photography lately, i have GIMP open almost all day long. I have used it for everything, including to prepare for print pictures that were part of some exibitions. Inkscape is a close second, not using it on a daily basis (I don't earn my livind as a designer, do that only in my spare time) but not far from that, let's say I am using it several times a week. Kdenlive is a third, I do video editing once in a while, but when I do it, Kdenlive is the tool of choice. I want to add my appreciation to MyPaint, I love that tool, but I use it only rarely. Still, love it, it has a wonderful feeling, like real drawing.
