This contest was made possible by generous donations of prizes. Here are some details about our sponsors and what we’re giving away to the winners.

Grand Prize: $500 in eBooks from O’Reilly Media.

O’Reilly Media gives lifetime access to eBooks when you purchase through shop.oreilly.com. Whenever possible O’Reilly provides them to you in several DRM-free file formats—PDF, ePub, Kindle-compatible .mobi, and DAISY. Your eBooks are enhanced with color images. They are fully searchable, and you can cut-and-paste and print them. O’Reilly will also alert you when it updates your eBooks with corrections and additions. The Grand Prize winner will receive $500 in credits to spend on eBooks from the O’Reilly Media store.

Second and Third Prizes: One pass to the LinuxCon/CloudOpen conference from The Linux Foundation.

The Linux Foundation, the nonprofit organization dedicated to accelerating the growth of Linux, is hosting LinuxCon and CloudOpen North America in New Orleans, La., September 16-18, 2013. This year’s event has an increased emphasis on technical content, as well as new activities aimed at encouraging newcomer participation that can fuel the future of Linux, open cloud, and collaborative development. The Second and Third Prize winners will receive free registration to the conference, but will be responsible for all other expenses relating to the conference, including travel.

The Fourth Prize winner will receive a complete kit to build their own solar power gadget charger.

Thanks for sharing the link to the Library of Congress source. We pulled this from its Flickr account, which if you haven't checked out, is a fantastic resource and easy way to lose yourself on the Internet for hours. http://www.flickr.com/photos/library_of_congress/

Hey Ginny, we should add the direct link to the base image as part of the image credits. A slight oversight on our part, but easily fixable :)
