Please join us for the second session of the “OS in Big Companies” meet up series and get a technical and project management perspective on how to make a OpenSource project more successful. You can learn from failures and success stories of recent initiatives from our speakers and leave the session being more comfortable to start a new OS project or improve an existing one! Let's share our insights and collaborate to make OS initiatives in bigger companies a bigger success!
What can you expect?
We started off the series with a high level perspective on this topic. This time, we will get more technical while still having the managerial perspective in mind - as innovations need good management and strong commitment to be a success! The 3 speaking slots will be filled with experienced speakers sharing success stories, failures und best practices of OS initiatives. You can expect to see technical presentations focusing on specific projects as well as beer and pizza! Please check out the talk descriptions below for more detail.

The OpenStack Ops Mid-Cycle Meetup will provide a chance to continue conversations and dive into working groups initiatied at the first Ops Meetup in March 2014, and followed by the Ops Meetup tracks during the Atlanta Summit May 2014. It is intended to be a forum for people who are currently running OpenStack clouds to congregate, swap best practices, share ideas and give feedback. The format will primarily consist of round table / working groups / discussion sessions, with only a small number of presentations. The event has the following goals:
- Gather feedback on the issues that come up in running OpenStack and work to communicate this throughout the community
- Create a forum in which to share best practices and architectures between interested parties
- Increase constructive, proactive involvement from those running clouds
More details to come on the agenda, but you can see initial input and notes at: https://etherpad.openstack.org/p/SAT-ops-meetup
