I find Fedora as perfect balance for me between stability and update frequency. I like philosophy behind better than other systems. It saddens me that Fedora does not get as much love as, let's say Ubuntu/Debian based distros, but there is still a great community behind it. My 2nd choice would be Mint, I've used it before switching to Fedora and still checking it out once in a while on a VM and it's an amazing distro. Although, I have to give it to Ubuntu for being most balanced distro out there if you take functionality, stability, community, ease of use and look&feel into account.
