Barbara is an open source veteran, with almost 20 years of experience as a professional developer, and at least ten as an active participant in the Python and Django communities. She has also volunteered as a teacher and mentor through organizations such as PyLadies and DjangoGirls, and organizes the Young Coders class annually at PyCon (North America). Currently, she works as a data engineer for Vox Media.
