The fact that faculty and campuses (including students) are contributing to the development of OERs is very encouraging. But are potential employers contributing? It seems that if employers contribute as well, course material will more effectively address the needs and expectations of the employers thereby increasing a student's potential for real employment upon graduation.

I'd also caution that the publishing firms will probably lobby congress to pass legislation that will cripple the efforts of OERs. That's how the "free market" actually works in the US now.
