More than 1,000 games released on Steam with Linux support

Gaming On Linux reported that more than 1,000 games have been released on Steam this year with Linux Support. Another interesting fact is that 38% of games on Steam were released this year—a clear sign of both an increase in gaming on Steam and Linux gaming.

Godot working on a new 3D renderer

Open source game engine Godot is working on a new 3D rendering system. According to a report by Gaming On Linux, Godot developers "will be sticking with GLES 3.0 instead of Vulkan (for now) due to driver support." Steam drops 32-bit Linux support

A major Steam update released December 12 has removed support for the Steam Web Browser on 32-bit Linux distributions. Although not mentioned in the release notes, it is listed in the updated official Steam Knowledge Base. Users who are still running a 32-bit distro will see a "The Steam Browser is disabled" message when accessing the Steam Store.

Lara Croft GO

Lara Croft GO, a turn-based puzzle adventure spinoff from Tomb Raider is available on Steam. From the game description:

"Lara Croft GO is a turn-based puzzle-adventure set in a long-forgotten world. Explore the ruins of an ancient civilization, discover well-kept secrets, and face deadly challenges as you uncover the myth of the Queen of Venom."


Political Animals

Political Animals, a fun political strategy game, is now available on Steam for Linux. From the game description:

"Political Animals is an election simulation game set within a fictional world populated by corrupt crocodiles and meritocratic mice. In a political contest where corruption is always around the corner, we want players to find out how incorruptible they really are."


Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun

Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun has been released on Steam for Linux. From the game description:

"Shadow Tactics is a hardcore tactical stealth game set in Japan around the Edo period. A new Shogun seizes power over Japan and enforces nationwide peace. In his battle against conspiracy and rebellion, he recruits five specialists with extraordinary skills for assassination, sabotage, and espionage."
