This and Xfce are my go-to desktops. I tend to put LXDE on computers I build for other people who aren't going to be using Ubuntu Studio (for which I leave the default Xfce desktop). I configure Compton so they will have compositing (to make the desktop feel smooth and eliminate tearing issues during video playback or scrolling). People from the Windows world seem to adjust easily to LXDE and it is very responsive even on hardware that is quite old.

People sometimes get a new computer (or have stopped using their computer in favor of a tablet because the computer doesn't work well), and then they ask me to rebuild their old machine as a second computer. I can take Vista era machines and make then seem faster than ever before with Lubuntu. For the most part it seems like they love the change.

Incidentally, as the other commenter mentioned, the "Reconfigure" menu option makes Openbox reread its configuration files and reset to the new configuration. It doesn't actually make any changes; it just applies any changes you have made somewhere else which didn't apply automatically.

I just wanted to point out, in case anyone overlooked it, that KXStudio repositories exist for Debian as well. So if you are using Debian, you can still use all the KXStudio applications.
