Thanks for the post. I work for Red Hat and we have a mission (http://www.redhat.com/about/companyprofile/facts/) that says: "To be the catalyst in communities of customers, contributors, and partners creating better technology the open source way".

I personally find that inspiring and reinforces for me why I am still with Red Hat (7.5 years now) and loving every moment. I will certainly want to take up your suggestion to check the annual reports and JimW's blog posts to assess how they compare against your analysis.
