Publication as the precondition for peer review? My head is spinning—but in a good way. I'm glad to see F1000Research so clearly summarizes the current status of an article in its respective "Article Status Summary," so readers know whether or not the manuscript they're reading has been vetted (not to mention how peer review might have altered it). Very interesting indeed.
