I mainly use command line for file manipulation but occasionally hop into a graphical File manager and really haven't noticed the advantages of using one over the other but this has given me food for thought. Nice, informative article.
Not sure if the article has been edited since your comment but it actually states ALT-F and ALT-B not the CTRL key.
