I'll use both tabs and spaces for HTML, Javascript and CSS without even thinking about it - because who cares, the whitespace is just a visual tool, right? And I'm not really writing anything that's to be widely shared across different editors.

With Python, just spaces.

I've often thought that one of the benefits to open source is not just the price itself, but the fact that you're also freed from the hassle of running a purchasing decision past the boss/client - is that kind of what you're getting at here?
