Thanks for binging zsh to a wider audience. I'm using zhs + ohmyzsh now for a few month and would never switch back to bash.
I'd like to add cmus to the mix. Seems to support ALSA according to https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Cmus#Using_cmus_with_ALSA and always runs in the background on my system.
