I'm a bit surprised you mention Muse for authoring, since most people (well, Emacs users...) nowadays would use Org Mode for that. And since you also mention Org Mode... :-)
Also, one very handy keyboard shortcut in Flyspell Mode is `C-;`. It corrects the last incorrectly spelled word before point. Repeating `C-;` cycles through the various suggestions. The nice thing about it is that you can use it even if you're already a few words on, without having to move point to the incorrect word. Much faster than grabbing the mouse. :-)
