Hi David, thanks! I have already created laser cut acrylic enclosures for the form factor of Rapberry Pi 0 and 3B/3B+ using the free and open source software OpenSCAD. You can see a photo at the end of the article and you can find the schematics at GitHub:

If you don't have a laser cutter you can uncomment the line that starts with linear_extrude in the scad files to make the enclosure 3D and print it on a 3D printer.

These acrylic enclosures are quite simple. I am not a good designer and as a developer OpenSCAD is easier for me than any of the modern fancy 3D GUI tools. It would be great if anyone can make a whole case with plastic button caps :)
