On the hunt for the right open source project?

Hey DJ,

You may want to look into OpenHatch if you would like to improve your skills but don't have a project in mind.

There's 459 Ruby bugs looking for someone to tackle them, with mentoring available.

If you'd like to continue working with Pulp, they have a really nice developer guide that covers everything from project architecture to coding styles.

As far as using work time, make sure to figure out what's in it for your boss to let you contribute. Getting more practice with Python or Ruby makes you more valuable to your team and your boss.
