Still a newbie after all these years it seems sometimes. I've been doing the Linux thing primarily for enterprises since about 1998 and joined Linuxcare as the third real employee after the founders. While at Linuxcare, I ran a business unit, managed large enterprise proejcts around creating custom Linux OS'es for a variety of companies, and pre-sold, sold, and did technical account management for companies like Dell, IBM, HP, Sun Microsystems and more.
After the dot.com implosion I worked as a consulting project manager and did a few Linux projects for a certain small software company in Redmond, Washington. I also worked as a Project Manager for the Free Standards Group, and worked managing services for Levanta which was the company Linuxcare became.
After the engagements I started focusing more on infrastructure projects small and large. I've worked for a few big and a number of smaller companies doing that including TiVo, IBM, Microsoft, Cisco Systems, and Visa. All of this work was around global data center consolidation, storage, virtualization, and disaster recovery for large clients. Now I'm happily employed at a smaller company with a focus on small to large infrastructure projects and I'm happy! Its a joy to go to work each day and find the challenges and feel the accomplishment levels.
