In such an article it would be useful to the reader to have some feedback, based on your experience, of the pros and cons of the cited editors, rather than a list of some of those that are available.
This is the one area where I use a commercial application (Master PDF - far more affordable than Adobe Acrobat) as working with PDFs becomes increasingly necessary. I've tried LibreOffice and while there is often an issue with the software finding the correct fonts to render the PDF text correctly - I must investigate that further - it does a useful job.
PDF Arranger is my go to tool for quick "arranging" of documents, although Master PDF will do the same.
