Noise - un-constructive and unproductive people are present in all areas of life.
"Communication" indeed is the right direction to go. One aspect here which I would like to highlight is - setting the right expectations. Once this is done, it has to be reiterated often.
As soon as we see the first signs of cultural mismatch, it is better to communicate and give constructive feedback mentioning the definite expected results rather than procrastinate the discussion. As it is said - one rotten apple spoils the whole basket, it is only wise to protect the greater community by compromising on the one that doesn't fit in.
