Because it exists, it compiles, it works well, and many people like to try new desktops. That's it.
How does it not?
The intended implication is that running a fancy desktop like Enlightenment makes even low-powered and old devices feel like new. Enlightenment is unique in its ability to deliver this experience because it's very light on system resources. You should try installing it!
