I like the way Git lets me control my own versioning system. Git was my first SCM ever, but I've recently tried other SCMs and while they might be very nice in many ways, I find that Git has a unique and perfect blend of what it does for me and what it demands I sort out on my own. There are some things that could be better or easier, but in general Git's got the right amount of blood to sweat-and-tears ratio.
You have my attention! I hadn't heard of isomorphic-git before. I'll check it out, thanks for the tip!
