Good point. I don't think I meant to imply it was new to KDE 5 as opposed to KDE 4, I just got carried away with using 'KDE 5' instead of just 'KDE'. Thanks!
I'll add one that has helped me a lot: report bugs early. I say this not because it's a responsible thing to do, but because I usually find that the act of reporting a bug and having to replicate the problem that I believe to be unavoidable usually reveals some silly user error. I'd say 75% of the bugs I sit down to report never actually get sent, because the act of trying to report them reveals their solution.
