IgosDuIkana your experience is very similar to my own. I had no formal training in technology, but make a living on it now, and it has enabled me to make a lot of the art I had always wanted to make but never had the funds to make. Open source is one of those all-too rare examples of technology actually doing real good *for everyone* in the world.
Had never heard of Alan Kay. Just read the wikipedia page on him and am frantically opening new tabs to learn more about his projects.
