Great article. Personally, I use Docbook. My workflow begins in Emacs with nxml-mode for XML, and finishes up with xsltproc or xmlto, which can output the docbook sources to just about anything. I manage all of my source material with git.
There is. Add a clip to your timeline, right-click on it > Add Effect > Fun > oldFilm. This effect adds sprocket jumps and flickering. For scratched film, right-click on the clip > Add Effect > scratchlines.
This article only touches the surface of all the effects that Kdenlive has, so really, install it and just mess around. You'll be amazed.
