Another vote for terminology. I should have made this article a poll!
I like terminology, but I guess I associate it heavily with Enlightenment and haven't installed it on its own lately. I'll remedy that oversight soon.

Yes, the short options are easier to type, but they're less clear when documenting and scripting. Long options are self-descriptive, and knowing them often helps one remember the short options. When documenting, I use long options for clarity, and provide short options as a quick alternative. When scripting, I use long options because it describes the intent of the command.
