Or, if you were really lazy, you could just get a snapshot of your window using shutter, or shotgun, or screen-grab, or mate-utils, or maim, or ksnip, or i3-scrot, or flameshot, or spectacle, or scrot.... It is not like we do not have a ton of options for screenshots. I am amazed that you did not mention a few in your article.
