I'm not sure I agree with the "are not interesting" part of your comment. In my view (and I know that it's not a universal opinion), a non-free CC license is still better than the default "all rights reserved". Comparing to previous years, thought, it does look like the free culture licenses are gaining ground. I hope that trend continues.
Great article, Chad! The most successful approach I've seen is to develop a plan in a small circle and then release it to the community for refinement before adoption. This still allows the community to be involved, but it helps cut down on the bikeshedding compared to starting from an empty page.
