David Bollier is an author, activist, blogger and independent scholar with a primary focus on the commons as a new paradigm of economics, politics and culture. He has pursued this work for more than ten years, most recently as co-founder and principal of the Commons Strategies Group, an international consulting project that works with the global policy activists. Bollier is also co-director of the Commons Law Project with international human rights scholar Professor Burns H. Weston. Bollier blogs at Bollier.org.
Bollier has written or edited twelve books, including the recently published anthology, The Wealth of the Commons: A World Beyond Market and State (co-edited with Silke Helfrich) and the forthcoming Green Governance: Ecological Survival, Human Rights and the Law of the Commons (co-authored with Burns Weston). Bollier’s previous books include Silent Theft: The Private Plunder of Our Common Wealth (2002), Brand Name Bullies: The Quest to Own and Control Culture (2005) and Viral Spiral: How the Commoners Built a Digital Republic of Their Own (2009).
