The most trying times I had as a system admin/engineer in academia was telling faculty "no". I am normally very obliging but there are just some things that can't or shouldn't be done. Some people just don't take no well. A few faculty fail to understand they are not the center of the universe.

w3schools.com - THE place to go for HTML/CSS, javascript, SQL, PHP, ASP

LinuxAcademy.com - costs a little per month, but a very good learning resource. They have a whole DevOps track.

python.org - another great resource thats free

I also recommend the Python Crash Course book from OReilly
