I currently utilize 2 Raspberry PI in my General Aviation airplane. One is used to received weather and traffic data, which is displayed on my tablet, while I am flying, broadcast by the FAA. The other has Volumio on it and provides music over the headset and speaker system in the plane. The second cuts out when I received transmissions over my aircraft radios. Both are invaluable to me and my passengers and are a fraction of the cost of a commercial system which will do less.
I actually still write in COBOL, work on some new programs this weekend. runs on win10, GUI interface, MariaDB (moved from MySQL), Linux server. Works great....
