It's an age old question, but it's always fun to hear how distributions change from year to year. What is your favorite Linux distribution?

With all of the choices out there, we can't list them all. Instead, we used DistroWatch.com's page hit rankings to generate for us the top 10 Linux distributions over the last 30 days.

The DistroWatch Page Hit Ranking statistics are a light-hearted way of measuring the popularity of Linux distributions and other free operating systems among the visitors of this website. They correlate neither to usage nor to quality and should not be used to measure the market share of distributions. They simply show the number of times a distribution page on DistroWatch.com was accessed each day, nothing more.

When we asked this question last year, over five thousand readers responded. Can we top that this year?

If your current distribution of choice didn't make the cut, pick your favorite from this list and let us know in the comments. Be sure to let us know why you picked your distro of choice!

Seriously, how could you forget to add Slackware on the list?

Shame on you!

Slackware.

From the list probably Fedora but seriously no slackware, no archlinux and what the hell is Deepin.

WTF? Where is Gentoo in that list ?!?!

I moved from Ubuntu to Arch and am sorry to see it not being there.

Pisi Linux

A poll without Slackware is like fish without chips.

Someday a real rain's gonna come and wash away polls that don't include Slackware.

Praise Bob !

ARE YOU CRAZY??? No Slackware?????

i'd have participated in the poll had Slackware been on the list

Where is slackware on the list? As the oldest linux distro it at least deserves a place doesnt it?
My vote is slackware.

Slackware

Arch Linux!

After many years with many different distros (SuSE, RedHat, Debian, Gentoo, Ubuntu and others) I finally came to Arch Linux and probably will stay here. It's easy, stable, cutting edge, hilghly configurable and excellent documented (and fast)!

android X86 ?????it's not even a real computer os ..
should have insluded arch and manjaro

Methodology is a problem, the distros were choosen using Distrowatch as reference but to this day nobody knows what Distrowatch ranking means, supposedly it measures the interest generated by distros, that means that users from camps like Slackware, Puppy, Debian, PCLinuxOS or Mandriva won't click since they made their choice time ago. If any, it measures the interest of distro hoppers in new distros.
That said, I don't think there is another solution short of puting every distro under the sun (or listed in Distrowatch)

yep, all the polls in the world, really amount to nothing in the end.
time goes by, changes happen, and it's all up in the air again.

as others have said, anything that DOES NOT use systemd, gets my vote !

Been using PCLOS, for a long time, started with Mandrake and moved to PCLOS when Texstar started his own. It never fails me, hardware does but not the OS.

PCLinuxOS
