I think I'll have to follow your lead and figure out a good system for getting a fan to the outside -- or at least the attic -- for the computer room in my new house, which is a considerably smaller space than I had at the place I moved from. On the other hand, for at least the next few months a little extra "waste" heat isn't something I'm going to complain about.
Both are still very usable, but as you note, there's not much active development on either front.
