My current wishlist consists of Absolute FreeBSD 3rd Edition by Michael W. Lucas, Beginning COBOL for Programmers by Michael Coughlan, On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft by Stephen King, and Persepolis Rising by James S.A. Corey.

While it won't be out in time for this holiday season, I have my eye on the complete box set of the Secret Coders series of graphic novels by Gene Luen Yang and Mike Holmes as something to give to kids interested in programming. All six books in the series are out, but the box set isn't coming out until February.

My current favorite desktop distribution is System76's new Pop!_OS distribution. While it is not a huge departure from what is available on other Ubuntu-based distributions, Pop!_OS offers a nice user experience. There are still some improvements/fixes I would like to see, but I have been very happy with it so far.
