It's not so odd. In the context of this article, I felt that Flame and Nuke fall within the compositing/effect/lookdev category more than in "video editing". It's arguable. Note that Heiro is part of Nuke studio, and is the closest thing to what most people think of when an article says "video editing".
Maybe in the future, it would be useful to write an article about the effects side of the process, covering things like Blender, Natron (https://opensource.com/life/15/7/getting-started-with-natron), Synfig rotoscoping, and whatever else, along with the obligatory mention of Flame, Nuke, and kin.
