I'm glad you found it useful! I do hope that it appeals to lots of different types of users.

I didn't review these applications based on one version, but on my experience with them over the course of several years: about 8 with Kdenlive, 5 with most of the others. As you say, software rapidly changes, so a version number today becomes meaningless by the end of the year.

"Stable" is a fuzzy metric, anyway. What's stable for me and my workflow could crash for someone expecting to edit animated GIFs like video, or it may appear unstable to someone who has no sense of media management (constantly moving video files without telling you editor about the change in location, for example).

I see this article as a list of tested editors with either a good track record or particular prominence in the industry. Learn them, and find one that's comfortable or that fits your workflow, and you'll be a happy camper.
