I highly recommend the Hummingbird for the classroom. I have assisted in classes using the Hummingbird kit in classes of 8 year old kids, and they love it. We use Linux Mint and the CreateLab Visual Programmer to design robots that accept input and respond according to whatever the kids can imagine. It's an amazing kit, and every child at all interested in robotics or programming should have one!
Great resources, thanks!
