I'd somehow managed to never hear about this one, thanks! I've downloaded the source and will try it out today.
The recommended path to an upgrade has changed a lot in recent years. For a while, there was the `fedup` tools, which has since been replaced with a dnf upgrade plugin. I haven't had issues with in-place Fedora upgrades since 2017, if I'm counting correctly, so if your attempts pre-date that, you should try again on a test system.
